Your support is vital, it helps the Museum share our collection with our community and the world.
The West Highland Museum relies on support of volunteers from the community to run the museum and from donations and shop sales to cover operational costs. You can donate to help care for and preserve the collection for future generations. You can donate as an individual, or through a foundation, trust or company. Your support helps us to do the following:
- Deliver exhibitions and events
- Care for and share our collection with the world
- Engage local and global communities with what we do in the museum and online

Become a Friend or Member
Becoming a Friend of the West Highland Museum offers you the opportunity to connect with us, support your museum, join us for events or exhibitions and become a valued supporter of our little gem in the Highlands.
Becoming a Member of the West Highland Museum offers a closer
link to us, as you will live within our local community, having a Lochaber address. You will be invited to our AGM, have the opportunity to vote, giving you direct input into the way the museum is looked after for generations to come. You will also receive the benefits of the Friends scheme with invitations to museum events and exhibitions.
Becoming both a Friend and a Member (if you live locally) will support the museum a little more financially and will also give you piece of mind that you are protecting our local history and heritage in the best way possible.
If you live in the United States and would like to support us then we have partnered with American Friends of Highland Culture to enable your donations and support to become a part of our future too.
Our mission is to preserve and promote our unique history, as well as bringing alive many stories of the past for future generations.
