On Friday evening, 13 February 2026, the museum hosted a Charity Fundraising Dinner at The Highland Soap Company Visitor Centre & Larder Cafe in Fort William. This was a wonderful event with many individuals and businesses supporting us with raffle & auction prizes, plus many people donating their time and expertise to help us ensure we offered an evening to remember.
We hosted 2 fantastic guest speakers, Mark Bridgeman and Calum MacColl, who talked about his career and played a tune later in the evening too. We were excited to share the plans for our project to redevelop the museum, and it was lovely to hear so many supportive comments on what a difference it will make to Fort William.
Over the coming months we will be consulting more with the community on what the museum could become for our town and we would love for you to get involved. Watch this space, or go to our website for more details on how you can help us.
In the meantime we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who came along on Friday, contributed in some way to host the evening, and especially to those guests who gave so generously in our raffle and auction.
