Schools The West Highland Museum welcomes school parties. If arranged in advance we can offer guided tours of the museum as well as a range of activities for school pupils. We are equipped to lead group activities for school pupils covering the following topics: |
|
||
We are happy to assist in the teaching of any of these topics, although our enthusiastic staff will try to accommodate the individual interests of each group and will have a go at answering any question! School parties from within Lochaber are welcomed free of charge throughout the year. Reasonable group rates are available for schools from outwith the local area. Please contact the Museum to book a session. |

Holidays & Special Events During school holidays, we often schedule activities for children. To find out about our most recent or any forthcoming holiday activities, please see the events page. | ||

From time to time the Museum arranges special events open to schools and other community groups. In the past this has included stroytelling sessions which took place all over Lochaber, and weeks of activity based on themes such as conservation or archeology. On the creative side we have staged visual arts workshops involving animation, bookmaking, sculpting and drawing. |

Research For older students, and those interested in serious research we have a small but substantial reference library which can be viewed by appointment by those with museum membership.
